GRANT #17 | WILLIAM | LYMPHOMA WARRIOR

Presenting William with a grant from KW was a bit different this time around than meeting our past grant recipients. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we decided in the best interest of everyone, especially William, that we were going to forgo the in-person presentation that we typically do and instead present him with the grant over the phone. It was hard for all of us, as we really wanted to meet William and he wanted to meet us, but we all understood it was for the best that we meet at a later point in time. Just talking to William over the phone, he was so thankful and appreciative of the support and without all of our supporters we wouldn’t have been able to provide him with this grant.

William has been having a rough time lately financially, as he cannot work due to his treatments and his sister and brother do what they can to help assist them in every way possible. They are such an amazing family and it was such a pleasure to talk to them. Even his social worker sent us an email letting us know how thankful he was and how he had come to her again to thank her for helping him apply for the grant. There were definitely some tears shed and this one truly meant a lot to everyone involved.
